Sample Newsletter

We publish an informative newsletter quarterly that is distributed electronically as an Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) file. This newsletter features interesting article that are often illustrated with examples of the glass. It also has a buy/sell/trade section.If you are a collector, dealer or museum with an interest in Phoenix or Consolidated glass this is something you will enjoy. PowerPoint Presentations

Since the early conventions we have had many presentations by a number of speakers. In the early days these were done with 35mm slides but now we typically see PowerPoint presentations. These presentations at our annual conventions in July are always interesting and we have uploaded a few to SlideShare to allow viewing without PowerPoint Software. A Look Back at our Phoenix & Consolidated Glass Collectors Club

This presentation traces the history of our club and was given in July 2009 by Tom Jiamachello.

The Phoenix & Consolidated Glass Collectors Club is now over twenty years old. Take a walk back in history to see how the club began and our progress through the years.
Early Consolidated Glass - updated April 5, 2014

Tom Jiamachello made the following presentation at the July 2008 convention. It focused on early Consolidated production in Fostoria Ohio and its myriad array of shakers.

Consolidated began its business in the 19th century in Fostoria, Ohio. It produced a wide variety of lighting glass but also produced art glass in a number of forms, such as table sets, salt & pepper shakers, muffineers, etc. This presentation examines this early Consolidated Glass that is widely collected today.
Dance of the Nudes - updated on April 5, 2014

Tom Jiamachello made this presentation focused on Consolidated's Dance of the Nudes glassware at the 2009 convention.

When Dance of the Nudes was introduced in 1926 the design was considered racy. Today it is a highly collectable line of glassware. This is a comprehensive overview of the many forms and finishes in this line including some tought to find rarities.
Unusual Phoenix, Consolidated & Kopp Glass

Jack Wilson, author of Phoenix & Consolidated Art Glass 1926-1980, made the following presentation at the 2010 convention.

If you are a collector of the rare and unusual, or just want to learn, then this presentation will be of interest. Jack Wilson focused on eamples of rare and unusual glass from three companies:
  • Phoenix Glass Company
  • Consolidated Lamp & Glass Company
  • Kopp Glass Incorporated

Introducing the Catalonian Line (aka The Glass of Old Spain) - updated April 5, 2014

Presentation by Tom Jiamachello at the 2011 convention that covered Consolidated's Catalonian (or Old Spanish Glass) line of glassware.

One of the best selling glass lines for Consolidated was Catalonian (or The Glass of Old Spain). Today, this is one of the easiest lines to find examples from. However, even in this popular line there are rarities to be found. This presentation is a comprehensive look at that glass line introduced in January 1927.

Ormolu mounted Phoenix & Consolidated glass - updated April 5,2014

Presentation by Tom Jiamachello at July 2012 convention that focused on metal ornamentation or ormolu on Phoenix & Consolidated glass.

This presentation focuses on the origin or ormolu ornamentation on glass. It's emphasis is on ormolu applied to Phoenix and Consolidated Art Glass.

 Silver Overlay on Glass

Banquet presentation by Jack Wilson at the 21st annual convention in July 2013. This was a SlideCast with a vocal narration until SlideShare decided to stop supporting SlideCasts..

This presentation focuses on the application of silver on glass.
